The Sports Team in The City of Edinburgh Council plays a central role in coordinating and developing sport and physical activity in Edinburgh.

Each year there are hundreds of sports events that take place in Edinburgh from grass roots to international level.Working in partnership with both internal and external partners the Sports Team has a great deal of expertise in preparing bids to bring an event to the city as well as helping organisers secure funding and providing hands on support to organise and deliver events.

Whilst the team contributes to a range of strategic projects they also promote the Activcity programme and Festival of Sport.
