RESTAURANT LINE UP ANNOUNCED AS TICKETS GO ON SALE FOR TV FOOD FESTIVAL

Following the success of last year's inaugural festival, Taste of Edinburgh - set to return to The Meadows from 29 May-1 June 2008 - today announces an even bigger line-up, including:

  • Dakota
  • Ducks at le Marche Noir
  • First Coast
  • Forth Floor at Harvey Nichols
  • Malmaison
  • number one at The Balmoral
  • Plumed Horse
  • Restaurant Martin Wishart
  • Restaurant David Bann
  • Roti
  • Santini
  • The Tower
  • Tigerlily
  • Vincaffe
with the final two restaurants yet to be confirmed.

Taste of Edinburgh raises the curtain to a series of the nationwide food and drink festivals across five cities in the U.K. - Edinburgh, Leeds, London, Bath, and Birmingham. As well as sampling cooking from the best culinary talent in the country, festival goers will be able to eat and drink from up to 100 speciality food and drink suppliers who will all have stands at the event sampling and selling Scotland's products.

The event will also serve up a fantastic mix of gastro-features, including the Taste Theatre, Taste Kitchen sponsored by Sainsbury's, the Laurent-Perrier Champagne Masterclass and the delicious. magazine Producers' Market in association with Edinburgh Farmers Market.

Partnered with VisitScotland, EventScotland, Scottish Enterprise, The City of Edinburgh Council and media partners with The Scotsman, Taste of Edinburgh 2008 is set to provide a culinary experience that will give 25,000 foodies the opportunity to sample "taster dishes" from 20 of Edinburgh's top restaurants, as the chefs work for four days in their on-site demonstration kitchens.

Sarah Forbes, Taste of Edinburgh Event Director, said, "I am absolutely delighted with the line-up for this year's Taste of Edinburgh festival. Our restaurants' inspiration comes from the four corners of the globe and showcases not only the best of Edinburgh's food scene, but also Scotland's celebrated national larder. It will be a gastronomic delight for food aficionados and with more restaurants, celebrity chefs, features and exhibitors: coupled with ticket prices remaining the same as 2007- it looks all set for a great day out."
