Tuesday 20 July - Anne Lederman and Aaron Jonah Lewis (£8)
An evening in the company of two top notch fiddlers showing two very different sides of fiddling in the Virginian and Canadian styles, with traditional stories, clog dancing and banjo into the bargain. In a long a varied career Anne studied, recorded and released Native and Métis fiddlers archive material for the Canadian National Museum and founded the Worlds of Music Toronto school. Aaron has won a host of awards for his playing including first place at the world famous Galax Old Fiddlers Convention and (with Special Ed and the Shortbus) first place at Appalachian String Band Festival and the Bank of Scotland Herald Angel Award at the 2008 Edinburgh Festival.

The String Contingent, led by sparkling Aussie favourite Chris Stone, play new acoustic music for violin, double bass and guitar. Their compositions and performance combine the clarity and precision of baroque chamber music with the raw excitement and intensity of Scottish fiddle and bluegrass.
