Event Details

Art in Crisis, a series of public events organised by Crisis, the national charity for homeless people, will open a window onto homeless artists work across the UK from 4-31 July.

In Crisis’ landmark 50th year, Art in Crisis considers the proposition ‘What If’ through the eyes of our clients’ pieces. Crisis Skylight Edinburgh will launch a series of events in the city 4-29 July.

Highlights include:

  • 3 - 30 July billboards and outdoor posters display powerful and personal still life photographs by Crisis Edinburgh clients and artist Alicia Bruce
  • 5 July ‘What If’ Exhibition launch, Art and Design Library 5.30-7.30pm and vintage Routemaster bus tour at 6.30pm
  • 4-29 July ‘What If’ photography exhibition developed by Crisis clients and local photographer Alice Bruce, Central Library, 5.30-7.30pm
  • 19 July Crisis clients’ exhibition tour round the National Museum of Scotland, 2pm – contact Deborah Shaw 0131 209 7723 to book free place

Together the events open a window onto the work of artists experiencing homelessness, revealing how art can help us all relate to others and seek our place in the world.
