Night time urban cycle racing returns to Edinburgh with the second edition of Edinburgh Nocturne taking place around the Grassmarket on Saturday 3rd July.The 2009 race saw David Millar triumph in a spectacular evening of bike racing and entertainment. This year's event will once again feature some continental star riders such as Matt Goss, Cameron Meyer, Jonny Bellis, Russell Downing and Luke Durbridge who will take on the cream of British talent in the Elite race. Other races will include the Support Race, Team Challenge and hugely popular folding bike race, which will see commuters testing their racing skills on the grueling cobbles around the Grassmarket.
Local bars and restaurants in the Grassmarket will keep the food and drinks flowing and the festival atmosphere will be enhanced by a range of other attractions including Bike Polo, Rollapaluza Roller Racing and the Red Bull Stand Off competition.
